Jesper Lindstrom handed golden Everton opportunity amid Sky Sports News update
Jesper Lindstrom may be given a golden opportunity against Southampton after Dwight McNeil didn’t feature in an Everton training session on Thursday (31 October).
The Napoli loanee hasn’t yet been afforded much of a run in Sean Dyche’s first team due to the stellar form that McNeil and Iliman Ndiaye have been in this season.
However, now that Sky Sports reporter James Savundra has reported via X that the Englishman didn’t feature in Everton’s training session on Thursday (31 October), a door has seemingly opened for Lindstrom who could be handed a chance to start.
While McNeil has more often than not been deployed in the number 10 role by Dyche this term, Ndiaye could be the one to slot into the playmaker role.
This would leave the left-wing spot open and while Jack Harrison will also be ready and waiting for a chance, his form has left a lot to be desired this term and it would be a surprise to see him chosen over the Dane.
Jesper Lindstrom needs to prove his worth to Everton
While Lindstrom was only brought into Goodison Park this summer, he needs to prove his worth for Everton to activate his buy-clause which is integrated into his loan deal [Fabrizio Romano, 24 July].
His pre-season form oozed class and it seemed like Lindstrom could become an integral part of Everton’s team this term but unfortunately for both parties, things just haven’t worked out that way.

This upcoming game against relegation battlers Southampton could be the ideal time for Dyche to entrust him, especially because they’ll be deemed the favourites to win.
If Lindstrom wants to develop his career in England and extend his Merseyside stay, there hasn’t been a better time than now for the Napoli loanee to show off his talent.
