Sean Dyche makes Orel Mangala call for Everton clash v Southampton
Sean Dyche has decided to drop Jack Harrison and make two changes as Everton take on Southampton at St Mary’s on 2 November.
Orel Mangala has returned to the heart of the Toffees’ midfield with Dyche dropping Abdoulaye Doucoure and Jesper Lindstrom has also come in for Harrison.
The Toffees go into this game in 16th place and a win could see them ending the weekend as high as 13th.
Everton have to pick up the three points against Southampton
The Saints’ winless streak and defensive frailties, having conceded 19 goals in nine matches, suggest a vulnerability that the Toffees, with their recent unbeaten run, can exploit.
Dyche’s side, buoyed by their improved form, will look to capitalise on Southampton’s defensive lapses, especially through pacey players who could pose significant problems for Southampton’s backline.
These are the kinds of matches Everton need to win not only to boost confidence but to create a buffer from the relegation zone, showcasing their resilience and capability to grind out results against teams in poor form, thereby solidifying their position in the league.
Dyche was under pressure during the initial stages of the season, but has overcome that and his side looks like a more formidable outfit now.
It remains to be seen if they can see off Southampton who are languishing in the Premier League and are desperate for a result.

This one could be Rusell Martin’s last game in charge if Dyche can mastermind the Blues to victory.
