Troy Deeney shares Sean Dyche admission amid West Ham v Everton prediction, ‘Neck on the line’

Troy Deeney trusts Sean Dyche more than Julen Lopetegui to get a positive result as Everton travel to face West Ham on Saturday.

Both managers are under pressure to secure all three points at the London Stadium on 9 November, with the sides only separated by two points near the bottom of the table.

Dyche and Lopetegui are having to deal with rather disappointing defeats heading into the game, with the Toffees slipping up against Southampton while the Hammers were thrashed 3-0 by Nottingham Forest.

Speaking live via talkSPORT on Friday (8 November, 11:35am), Deeney said: “Every time I think that West Ham are going to have a bad performance and he [Lopetegui] is going to get sacked, they just pull one out of the fire.

“They got a great result against Man United but it wasn’t a great performance. If I had to put my neck on the line, I’d trust Sean Dyche over Lopetegui.”

Sean Dyche to lead Everton to victory over West Ham United?

The Toffees will be desperate to get back to winning ways after dropping all three points in a disappointing display at St Mary’s Stadium last weekend.

Lopetegui’s side are in a horrible period right now, having suffered a 3-0 defeat at the hands of Forest with 10 men after Edson Alvarez was sent off, and the Evertonians must capitalise on that.

Dyche’s side are just four points above the relegation zone after 10 matches, and despite going on a five-game unbeaten streak in the league, it has left much to be desired at Goodison Park.

While it seems a little early to say just 10 matches into the new campaign, West Ham versus Everton could already be a “six-pointer” in the grand scheme of the season.

Dyche needs all of his players firing on all cylinders, having not been able to score in two of their last four games, and will hope that Dominic Calvert-Lewin can hit the back of the net for the third time this season.

In other Everton news, Sean Dyche’s side want to sign a World Cup winner, with his former team eyeing a “bombshell” transfer.
