Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite injury news shared by Alan Myers
Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite has suffered a minor injury which caused him to miss the England team training on Wednesday, according to Alan Myers.
The Sky Sports news editor reported on 13 November that the 22-year-old trained away from his international teammates after picking up a knock against West Ham.
Branthwaite has had multiple fitness issues this season but it’s not understood to be one that will keep him out for long.
Via X, Myers wrote: “It’s very minor from what I hear.”
Everton fans will be relieved at the Jarrad Branthwaite injury development
Toffees fans will likely feel a wave of relief knowing that Branthwaite’s injury is minor and not another lengthy blow.
The young defender’s importance to the team, especially after a series of fitness concerns this season, cannot be overstated.
His absence from England’s training session due to what appears to be a minor knock suggests a cautious approach, which is understandable given his value to the team.
With the match against Greece on 14 November, it makes strategic sense not to risk aggravating his condition, even if the injury isn’t severe.
It would prioritise Branthwaite’s long-term health but also align with the Toffees’ interests in keeping their key players fit for domestic competitions.
The club would probably communicate this to the national team as well as it makes no sense to take unnecessary risks.
In other Everton news, a claim has been shared about Jarrad Branthwaite being a regular starter for England at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
