Kevin Thelwell under fire as another Everton player heads for Goodison Park exit
Kevin Thelwell has nowhere to run as Beto becomes the latest player to head towards a Goodison Park outfit.
Tuttosport reported via its print edition on 13 November that Beto does not have a place in Sean Dyche’s plans and could leave on loan in the January transfer window.
This follows a report from Graeme Bailey, who claimed that the Toffees would accept a “decent bid” for the striker in winter.
Beto situation at Everton does not reflect well on Kevin Thelwell
Everton forked out £25.75million to sign Beto from Udinese last year [Sky Sports] and there are high chances that they will not be able to recoup that sum if he is sent out on loan unless he sets the stage ablaze elsewhere.
This does not reflect well on Kevin Thelwell and his recruitment strategies, especially as the Merseyside-based club navigate through their well-documented financial struggles.
The Toffees were forced to sell Amadou Onana, one of their best players, to Premier League rivals Aston Villa for £50million due to PSR concerns this summer [BBC].
They also cashed in on Ben Godfrey, a player they signed for £25million, after he entered the final year of his contract, selling him to Atalanta for just £10million [BBC]. It is worth noting that they had a £12.7million bid from Lyon before selling him for cheaper to the Serie A club.

Furthermore, Alex Iwobi and Moise Kean, who Everton sold in 2023, have been in fine form for Fulham and Fiorentina respectively.
Thelwell has been serving as the club’s director of football since February 2022, but the transfer business under him has certainly raised eyebrows.
In other Everton news, this player could also be on his way out of Goodison in January after what Dyche did to him.
