Sean Dyche can save Everton job with selection gamble as Finch Farm update emerges
Sean Dyche must take a potentially job saving gamble and select Armando Broja to start for Everton in the clash against Brentford.
The Blues boss was perceived to be at risk of dismissal before the 0-0 draw against West Ham United [talkSPORT] on 9 November, as his future on Merseyside remains uncertain.
However, Dyche is set to receive a welcome boost heading into another vital clash at Goodison Park next weekend [29 November] as, per the Liverpool Echo [16 November], Broja and Dwight McNeil have taken significant steps in rehabilitation throughout the international break.
Everton fans have not seen the deadline-day signing in the famous blue shirt since he arrived from Chelsea, but he could be just what Dyche needs to cool the uncertainty surrounding his future.
Armando Broja could be handed an unlikely start for Everton v Brentford
While it may be a risk that backfires massively for Dyche, he must throw caution to the wind to ensure he remains at the Everton helm.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin has not scored in his last seven outings for the Blues, despite his claim he wants to “etch” his name in the club’s history.
The 27-year-old’s contract expires at the end of the season, so his departure from Goodison Park feels inevitable at this stage.
If reports are to be believed, he could be one of several players to be disgruntled with Dyche and may even move in the January transfer window.
If this is the case, the Blues should not waste any more energy on Calvert-Lewin and subsequently remove him from the first-team frame.
Everton need players committed to the cause as they aim to avoid a fourth consecutive relegation battle this term – the odds are stacked against the side with pivotal clashes against Manchester United, Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City ahead.

Broja, admittedly, will not be at a level to withstand 90 minutes of football, but if he can find himself on the scoresheet and leave the pitch intact, he would already have more of an impact Calvert-Lewin has mustered this year.
The supporters are desperate for a spark to light up what has proved to be a grim campaign and, with options wearing thin, Dyche must be bold and pull the trigger on a risk that could save his Everton future.
