Everton have new Jarrad Branthwaite problem as ‘fresh information’ emerges
Everton’s attempts to persuade star centre-back Jarred Branthwaite to sign a new contract have been unpersuasive so far, according to a report from TBR Football.
The news outlet reported on 20 November that “fresh information” has emerged to say the 22-year-old is aware of interest from Manchester United and is stalling on agreeing to terms that would make him one of the Blues’ highest earners as long as the Red Devils are keen.
However, it is understood that the Toffees are adamantly against selling the defender in the January transfer window because he is under contract until 2027.
Everton must do whatever they can to keep Jarrad Branthwaite
Everton must do whatever they can to keep Branthwaite at the club for as long as they can.
The Carlisle academy graduate has attracted interest from the likes of Real Madrid, Manchester United and city rivals Liverpool for his performances at Goodison Park.
The 22-year-old has had a stunning breakthrough on Merseyside, he was vital to the club’s survival in the Premier League last campaign and earned his first England cap in June 2024 against Bosnia and Herzegovina.

He was unfortunate to miss out on the final squad for the European Championships last summer but there is no doubt that he will a major asset for the Three Lions in the near future.
The Friedkin Group’s takeover of the Blues may help to convince him to stay on the Blue side on Merseyside with their ambitions to take the club back towards the top half of the Premier League.
Branthwaite has returned to training this week after recovering from an injury that kept him from representing England in the international break and is expected to start the Blues match against Brentford on November 23.
In other Everton news, an ex-Blues scout has urged the club to sign Orel Managa on a permanent basis.
