Everton to pick different side in Manchester City and Premier League battle
Everton are likely to pick a different side as they will cast their vote on Friday, according to the Times.
The news outlet reported on 21 November that the Toffees and Wolves, who previously voted against tougher Associated Party Transaction rules, will now side with the Premier League.
The vote will be held due to a legal challenge by Manchester City and will need 14 out of 20 clubs to vote in favour.
Everton surely need to vote in their own interest
While the Toffees have every right to feel aggrieved with the Premier League, they must vote in their own interest.
Things that benefit Manchester City are not necessarily going to benefit Everton and the decision makers will be aware of that.
Thus, their change of stance must not be perceived as a weakness but a tactical call that will benefit them in the longer run.
This also gives the Premier League time to have a real look at how their rules are structured and what kind of teams they’re benefiting.
Hopefully, concrete changes are made at all levels to end these sorts of incidents and eliminate the possibility of them happening in the future.

The Toffees, once the takeover is done, must primarily have their focus on on-field issues and not legal ones like this.
In other Everton news, a Toffees managerial target has already applied to another English leaving, making things urgent for The Friedkin Group.
