Robbie Savage hits out on air at Sean Dyche claim at Everton

Robbie Savage branded an Everton fan as “harsh” following claims that Sean Dyche should be sacked.

The Toffees could only get a point at Goodison Park on Saturday despite Brentford going down to ten men in the 41st minute.

The result, which leaves the Blues three points clear of the relegation zone, was not enough to relieve the pressure on Dyche’s job.

However, Savage feels that some of the criticism of the Blues boss is unfair as he responded to a supporter claiming that ‘the fans turned today’ on BBC’s 606 [23 November] by simply saying: “Harsh, I think that’s harsh.”

Would an exit for Dyche change Everton?

It’s clear that Everton are a struggling side again this season and with only two wins during the campaign so far, it certainly leaves Blues fans looking towards another relegation battle.

With that in mind, you can understand why there is increased pressure on the manager at Goodison and failing to capitalise against a side with ten men is only going to further add to questions surrounding his job.

However, the Blues also have some really tough fixtures ahead of them in December including the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City. With that in mind, you have to question if there is a manager who would be able to walk into this job now and see an immediate improvement.

With plenty going on off the pitch at Goodison currently, it’s a big time for supporters and they will be keen to see a lift in their side’s performances very soon. However, if they are going to make the call to sack their current boss, the follow-up appointment needs to be spot-on in order to save their season.
