Dan Friedkin could stick with Sean Dyche in Everton sack twist
Dan Friedkin could potentially give Sean Dyche as long as possible at Everton instead of sacking him, Gav Buckland says.
The Friedkin Group are set to complete their takeover of the Toffees by mid-December [Alan Myers, 20 November] as the Blues sit just above the relegation zone in the Premier League table.
Dyche is under pressure at Everton, and the new owners’ executive team will reportedly make a decision on his future [iNews, 28 November].
Speaking on the Royal Blues podcast [29 November], Buckland believes that the Toffees boss will, in fact, be given time and thinks TFG will be reluctant to part ways with him.
“I don’t think it’s necessarily given when the Friedkin’s come, the first thing they’ll do is get rid of Dyche. I don’t think that will happen,” he said.
“In some respects, I think that’s the last thing they’d want to do. I think they’ll give Dyche as long as practically possible.”
Sean Dyche needs to be sacked at Everton by Dan Friedkin
Dyche is a big part of the Farhad Moshiri era, which has seen Everton regress, and the British-Iranian businessman’s backing of the 53-year-old means nothing [Sky Sports, 25 November].
The performances this season under the former Burnley head coach have been reminiscent of a bygone age, with the team sitting back and unable to do anything when forced to take the initiative.
Dyche’s tenure can be summed up by the Toffees’ recent fixtures — the 0-0 draw against West Ham on 9 November showcasing the team’s ineptitude under the Englishman.
The Blues were involved in another goalless draw against Brentford on 23 November, and it was baffling to see the Merseyside outfit getting worse after Christian Norgaard was sent off.

It’s unsurprising that the Goodison faithful have had enough of the 53-year-old, and a change is inevitable at some point.
Friedkin must understand that Dyche isn’t the right man to take Everton forward, and sticking with the former Burnley manager could endanger the Toffees’ Premier League status.
