Everton slammed as new No 10 signing suggested for January transfer window
Everton do not have enough firepower in attack and can only tread water with what they currently possess, according to Ian Darke.
The Toffees have only scored 10 Premier League goals this season and while they have improved defensively, have been blunt going forward.
Top scorer Dwight McNeil only has three goals, while Dominic Calvert-Lewin – who is out of contract this summer – has just two.
“Everton have never really been a side full of attacking flair and goals under Dyche, they’ve been more a team who grind results out,” TV commentator Darke exclusively told Goodison News.
“They’re solid and resilient which can keep their heads above water, but 10 goals in 12 games is not good enough.
“In January it’s a difficult market as we always say – number 10s are hard to come by and [Iliman] Ndiaye is sort of filling a role in what he’s doing at the moment, but they certainly need some sort of new attacking spark.”
Everton looking to bolster goals tally
Everton may look to January to bulk up their attacking output, but not only do they have seven games before the transfer window opens, their finances may also remain unclear until The Friedkin Group’s takeover becomes official.
The club remain in something of a stand-off with Calvert-Lewin over his future, while deputy Beto is being given only snippet opportunities.

Armando Broja’s injuries have prevented him even from a debut at Goodison Park, while youngster Youssef Chermiti is also ruled out.
In other Everton news, whether Jarrad Branthwaite’s head was turned in the summer is debated.
