Stan Collymore predicts what to expect from ‘stubborn’ Everton in game v Man Utd

Stan Collymore has predicted that Everton will lose this weekend as they take on Manchester United.

There is mounting pressure on Sean Dyche as his side sit two points above the Premier League relegation zone ahead of a tough trip to Old Trafford on Sunday (1 December).

Former Liverpool striker Collymore thinks Dyche will have the Toffees set up well but ultimately the home side will run out 2-0 winners.

Speaking on talkSPORT [29 November, 14:35], he said: “Everton have only won one of the last 31 at Old Trafford. But they are stubborn, three clean sheets in their last five games for Sean Dyche so they’ll go there, set-up, they’ll be stubborn, they’ll have a low block and they’ll try and make life as difficult as possible.

“But although the statistics don’t point to lots of goals, I think that now he’s [Amorin] had a couple of games under his belt and he knows how he wants the team to play, they’ve got a decent run of games coming up that many Manchester United fans will feel they’ll be competitive in and I think they’ll win this one 2-0.”

Another Everton defeat the end for Sean Dyche?

Although the Toffees have kept a number of clean sheets and will be hopeful for another, their form still remains unconvincing with only two Premier League wins all season.

A trip to Old Trafford will be a tough one for Dyche’s side, especially as his counterpart is taking charge of his first home game for the Red Devils and therefore will be eager to put on a display for their supporters.

The Blues are a stubborn side, as Collymore says, and they will no doubt frustrate their opponents as they hope to get something from this match

However, with a lack of goal threat from the Blues, if United are able to score then it is unlikely we will see Everton be able to get themselves back into it.

If this is the case, then the pressure on Dyche will continue to grow at Goodison Park and the under-fire boss could really do with his side pulling a result out of the hat.
