Sean Dyche boiling after what was spotted on Sky Sports in Man United v Everton

Sean Dyche was “boiling” with his Everton players after a frustrating moment emerged in the 4-0 loss to Manchester United on Sunday, Dean Ashton said.

The Toffees were ripped to shreds at Old Trafford on 1 December, with braces from Marcus Rashford and Joshua Zirkzee sending the side back to Merseyside with little to show for their efforts.

Despite a bright start to the match for Dyche’s side, Rashford’s opening goal eventually blew the wind from their sails and began a rather destructive defeat for the man in charge.

Speaking live via Sky Sports [1 December, 2:11pm], Ashton said: “That initial energy has been sapped away from Everton because of the goal but can you imagine inside just how much Dyche will be boiling?

“How can a Bruno Fernandes-type player be on a corner and Rashford be on the edge of the box, completely free, and not one player has noticed that? He must be so frustrated.

“They’ve just given it away now. Fernandes has taken it on, so unselfish, as he rolls it across to Zirkzee who scores. It was all their own fault.”

Ashton’s timing could not have been any better as Jordan Pickford picked the ball out the back of his own net for the second time that afternoon, showcasing exactly how things went wrong for the Toffees.

It was a relatively even contest at Old Trafford until the opening goal, which will have caused even more frustration for the travelling fans, with the players unable to make the final pass or find the target.

While few will have expected the Toffees to get a positive result out of Ruben Amorim and his players, Dyche has once again moved closer to being sacked by the boardroom.

Only two points separate the side from the Premier League relegation zone after 13 matches, and however much credit the manager has stored in the bank, time is running out for him.

It is understood that there are no legal barriers to stop Farhad Moshiri and Dan Friedkin from agreeing to Dyche’s termination [The Esk], so if he wants to remain at Goodison Park until the end of the season, things need to change quickly.
