Manchester Utd could end Jarrad Branthwaite interest after what Everton star did

Bryan King expects that Manchester United could end their interest in Jarrad Branthwaite after the Everton defender’s performance at Old Trafford on Sunday.

The ex-Goodison scout claims the 23-year-old “was all over the place” against Ruben Amorim’s side.

Branthwaite started as Everton were thrashed 4-0 by the Red Devils in the Premier League [1 December], with Alan Shearer worried after what happened in the match.

And King – speaking exclusively to Goodison News – thinks United might have changed their stance on Branthwaite after his display.

“Branthwaite was all over the place against United,” King said.

“I can’t imagine that deal is going to go forward now. He looked very poor, certainly not an £80million player, that is for sure. Looking at his performance against United, they could certainly end their interest in him.

“He was very ordinary, he got caught out so many times. That really could affect the interest from United.”

Manchester United to end their transfer interest in Everton star Jarrad Branthwaite?

United have long been linked with a move for Branthwaite. However, according to Chris Beesley [via The Echo, 2 December], the young defender is still happy at Goodison Park.

Everton will no doubt want to keep hold of the player and would welcome Manchester United ending their interest.
