Ray Parlour makes ‘Brilliant’ Everton admission as Arsenal prediction made
Everton will be “buoyant” after their “brilliant” win over Wolves last time out but will still succumb to defeat against Arsenal, Ray Parlour has predicted.
The Toffees saw their Merseyside derby against Liverpool postponed as a result of Storm Darragh last weekend meaning their latest outing was the 4-0 rout of Wolves (4 December).
Meanwhile, the Gunners outclassed Monaco 3-0 in midweek and former Arsenal midfielder Parlour thinks Mikel Arteta will lead his side to a 2-0 triumph over his former club.
Parlour, speaking live with Alan Brazil on talkSPORT [13 December, 07:44], said: “It was a good win in the week for Arsenal against Monaco, clean sheet as well. Everton come off that brilliant win last week, so they’ll be a bit more buoyant,” Parlour explained.
“They’ll be hoping they can get a draw there – it would be a good point for Everton, but I’m going to go with Arsenal to win, 2-0. Kai Havertz to score.”
Everton can nick something at Arsenal if they take their chances
The beauty of the Premier League is that no side can ever be written off, and Everton will be hoping for some sort of smash-and-grab against Arsenal.
The Gunners dropped points at Fulham in their last league outing [8 December], but recovered with a dominant Champions League victory over Monaco in midweek.
Everton have been out of competitive action for 10 days after the Merseyside derby at Goodison Park was postponed last weekend, meaning the Wolves rout was their last Premier League contest.

Arsenal’s defence were utterly solid last year, despite the fact Dyche’s men so nearly grabbed a point from North London on the final day of the season when the hosts had discovered they were not catching Manchester City.
Havertz notched a late winner to spare their blushes that day, but Everton know they must take their chances and show bravery against Arteta’s side to breach them this time around.
