Alex Crook shares what ‘everybody knows’ about Sean Dyche’s future at Everton

Alex Crook has said “everybody knows” that Sean Dyche will be replaced as Everton manager in the future.

Following the news on Thursday [19 December] that The Friedkin Group have acquired Farhad Moshiri’s controlling stake at Goodison Park, questions immediately turned to the current manager’s future.

Dyche has been under immense pressure this season, with the Toffees only three points above the dreaded relegation zone after 15 matches, and Crook has had his say on the situation.

Speaking live via talkSPORT on Friday [20 December, 12:28pm], Crook said: “I think everybody knows that, at some point, he [Sean Dyche] is going to be replaced.”

Sean Dyche to face Everton sack?

While it may seem like an obvious point to make, it is a fair point from Crook. All managers will step down or be removed from their post at some point during their tenure.

Dyche has worked wonders since stepping into the role on Merseyside, keeping his team afloat in the Premier League last term despite being handed two separate points deductions.

However, with Ipswich Town only three points from sending either Everton or Leicester City into the dropzone this weekend, the former Burnley man is on the edge of being sacked.

Football is a results-based sport and this often sees difficult decisions made very quickly, decisions which have often been made by TFG at their other club, AS Roma.

The Serie A side have had four different managers in charge since 2023 – Jose Mourinho, Daniele De Rossi, Ivan Juric and, now in charge, Claudio Ranieri. Dyche could be next on the chopping block.

Graham Potter and David Moyes have already been linked with the job if it were to open up, and while TFG are unlikely to make any cut-throat decisions straight away, they are surely thinking about it.
