Clive Tyldsley reacts after what ‘mischievous’ Everton ace did v Man City

Clive Tyldsley playfully dubbed Iliman Ndiaye as “mischievous” after his equalising goal for Everton in the Premier League draw against Manchester City on Boxing Day.

The attacker was sent a deflected cross from Abdoulaye Doucoure that fortunately ended up at the Senegal international’s feet and then in the back of the net after an inch-perfect finish.

The score at the Etihad ended 1-1 and even though the Cityzens were the ones who opened the scoring, they couldn’t keep Ndiaye from getting the ball into the back of the net.

Speaking live on Amazon Prime (26 December), Tyldsley shared his thoughts on the goal the attacker scored.

“Everton fans fell in love with Iliman Ndiaye at first sight, a talented, mischievous international from Senegal,” he said.

“He just stabbed that past [Stefan] Ortega, Everton’s joker card has equalised here for them at the Etihad”.

Sean Dyche has Iliman Ndiaye to thank for keeping his Everton role

Since near to the start of the season, the future of Dyche at Goodison Park has been questioned.

His playstyle has often bored fans and there’s no denying that the start of the season was quite worrisome for the Blue half of Merseyside.

However, their last three games against Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City have all shown a new side to the Toffees that their fans haven’t seen for some time.

Granted, their recent results have been down to the defensive solidity shown by their defensive line and even though the Merseyside outfit’s strikers have been letting them down recently, Ndiaye has emerged as one of, if not the best players within the Goodison Park club.

His summer arrival was likely expected to not have as much of an impact as it has done but there’s no doubt that Dyche will be happy it’s turned out this way.

Now that the Friedkin Group are the official owners of the Toffees, Dyche has a lot to prove and if his team continues this run of form, it’s hard to see why they’d choose to replace him in the future.

In other Everton news, Sean Dyche has been mooted to take up a new role within the Friedkin Group’s umbrella.
