Bernardo Silva spotted making classy gesture after Everton draw v Man City
Bernardo Silva was involved in a classy gesture towards Seamus Coleman after Everton drew 1-1 with Manchester City, according to Joe Thomas.
The Irishman was making just his second start in seven months at the Etihad as Sean Dyche’s side held the defending champions.
Pep Guardiola’s side had taken the lead through Silva’s deflected strike early in the first-half but Iliman Ndiaye equalised before Jordan Pickford saved Erling Haaland’s penalty.
Liverpool Echo journalist, Thomas, revealed the post-match moment between the veterans [27 December], saying: “As the Everton captain was on media duty in the bowels of the stadium, the Portugal international went out of his way to politely interrupt the conversations so that he could say goodbye to Coleman and wish him the best – a gesture that was reciprocated.”
Coleman return brings feedback factor to Everton
The respect for the 36-year-old from a fellow experienced professional is no surprise, Coleman is a well respected figure within the game.
He has been through numerous injury setbacks in recent years but his comeback was special as he constantly restricted Jeremy Doku down the right-flank.
The Irish international rolled back the years with a stunning performance, as he was exceptional at both ends on the pitch.

His experience is exactly what Dyche’s side need right now as they seek to avoid another brutal relegation battle with the Blues currently just three points above the relegation zone albeit with a game in hand.
The club captain is out of contract in the summer but he highlighted in the Boxing Day contest why he is still so highly regarded at the Toffees.
If he leaves or retires instead of signing a new contract, it will be a devastating blow for the Blues as he is a true leader and role model in the squad.
