Everton to learn from Daniel Levy error at Tottenham as stadium plans shared

The Friedkin Group recently completed their takeover of Everton after what felt like a rather long and drawn-out process.

Farhad Moshiri had the club up for sale for what felt like an eternity and with the amount of potential owners that entered the mix, it feels like the Toffees got the best deal in the end.

While exact plans for Everton’s future in the upcoming January transfer window and other aspects of the club haven’t yet been shared, it feels like plenty of positive change is set to come for the blue half of Merseyside.

Especially after a report from The Telegraph [27 December] has shared that the Friedkins are looking to maximise the Merseyside outfit’s revenues.

The report also shares that Tottenham securing naming rights for the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium when they moved into it back in 2019 has “proved difficult”, but this might not be the case for Everton.

“Securing lucrative stadium naming rights has proved difficult for Tottenham Hotspur since they left White Hart Lane and made their move in 2019, the club yet to receive an offer that reflects what they perceive as their value,” the newspaper reported via their website.

“With a higher number of businesses prepared to be associated with Bramley-Moore dock, TFG has the potential to accumulate more cash by offering high profile exposure”.

The Friedkin Group need to find stadium sponsors for Everton as soon as possible

One of the main problems during the Moshiri era was the financial problems they seemed to face.

While they always found ways to spend money in the transfer window, they never really seemed to be spent in the right areas of the team.

During Moshiri’s time as owner, one too many poor transfer decisions were made and that’ll likely be a route that the Friedkins won’t want to follow.

If they can secure a lucrative deal for the naming rights of the Bramley-Moore Dock Stadium, it’ll no doubt set the American businessmen well on their way to getting on the good side of fans and allow them to show they’re serious about the project they’ve taken on.

And, they wouldn’t be repeating the same mistake that Daniel Levy has made as he’s made Spurs miss out on millions due to his stubbornness on the price he expects.

Spurs have missed out on five years and counting of effectively free cash from having a company’s name attached to the stadium.

Of course, nothing is yet set in stone but the fact positive outcomes like this are already being spoken about, makes it feel as if things are starting to look somewhat brighter for the Toffees, even if they are 15th in the Premier League.
