Andy Gray was blown away by the Iliman Ndiaye goal in the Everton and Manchester City clash on Boxing Day.

Pep Guardiola's team welcomed the Toffees to the Etihad on 26 December in the Premier League and took an early lead through Bernardo Silva.

Sean Dyche's team managed to hit back through their Senegalese forward, who superbly found the back of the net.

Speaking on beIN SPORTS 1 [26 December, 17:10], Gray said: "This is a brilliant strike from Ndiaye.

"He's only going to get two touches and has to make them count. If not, he gets closed down. He sets himself, and the hit is terrific."

Iliman Ndiaye emerging as key player for Sean Dyche at Everton

The Blues signed the 24-year-old from Olympique Marseille in the summer, and since then, he has been hugely influential under Sean Dyche.

Ndiaye has made 17 appearances in all competitions for the Toffees in the current campaign, scoring four goals.

Along with Dwight McNeil, the Senegal international has been one of the best outfield players for the Merseyside outfit in a rather underwhelming season.

Everton have managed to turn the tide a bit in recent games, getting points from Arsenal, Chelsea and Man City in their last three matches.

The Toffees have increased the gap with the relegation zone, and while Dyche must be commended for the performances as of late, the Goodison faithful aren't too keen on his style of play in general.

There's a sense of uncertainty around the English manager's future at the Merseyside outfit, but Ndiaye is certainly helping him survive after some impressive displays.

With The Friedkin Group completing their takeover of the Blues, they should look at building their team around the Senegalese going into the 2025/26 season.
