Jordan Pickford exit: Everton star told ‘now or never’ to leave Goodison Park

Jordan Pickford must leave Everton now if he is to ever play for a “bigger club”, Paul Robinson has said.

The 30-year-old has been a standout performer at Goodison Park over the last few seasons and has finally started to earn the right level of respect, with nearly 300 appearances under his belt since 2017.

Linked with a move to Chelsea during the summer transfer window, the Toffees managed to keep their hands on their star shot-stopper and are now planning to offer him a contract until he retires [TBR Football].

Speaking live via BBC’s Final Score [29 December, 2:56pm], Robinson said: “There is talk of Jordan Pickford potentially leaving Everton. Given his age and where he is at in his career, it is really now or never if he is to go to a so-called bigger club.

“He is playing some of the best football he has played in a long time, he has mellowed and grown as a player.”

Jordan Pickford to leave Everton at end of season?

Fans of all Premier League clubs will agree that seeing Pickford in any other shirt than Everton and England would be an extremely weird feeling.

He has been a mainstay on Merseyside ever since his 2017 move from Sunderland, and while his career has not always been smooth sailing, he has the weight of the world on his shoulders.

Luckily for Sean Dyche, the ‘keeper is someone who thrives on that kind of pressure and would not be able to guarantee regular game time if he were to move to another team.

Tottenham seem like the only team in the “big six” in desperate need of a new goalkeeper in January but there have been no links with Pickford and a move away from Goodison Park.

With the 30-year-old currently in the running for the Golden Glove race this season, much like the previous campaign, it seems strange that there aren’t more rumours surrounding England’s No.1 goalkeeper.
