Sean Dyche makes Everton admission ahead of transfer window

Sean Dyche has admitted that he doesn’t know what the January transfer window holds for Everton after his side’s loss against Nottingham Forest.

The Toffees were on the wrong end of a 2-0 defeat against Forest at Goodison Park and despite their opponents being in good form, Dyche’s side also looked poor.

It hasn’t been an easy season for the Blues so far and they will be looking towards the transfer window with some hope of improvement after the completion of the Friedkin Group’s takeover.

However, Dyche has remained tight-lipped ahead of the New Year as he said in his post-match press conference [quoted by Liverpool Echo journalist Tony Scott]: “I don’t know about the January situation.”

Sean Dyche unsure what the future holds at Everton?

Despite having previously spoken to the new owners at Everton about the future of the club in the short and long term, it seems as though Dyche is now unsure about what may happen next.

The boss could genuinely be unsure and not willing to talk about transfers at this point which after a loss is fair enough.

However, his comments could also be read as a reflection that he is unsure of his future with the speculation around the 53-year-old continuing with the Toffees just three points clear of the relegation zone.

Despite a poor performance and result, it’s worth remembering just how good the form of Nottingham Forest is at the moment and therefore, it was arguably a harder game than the point they got against Manchester City in the current climate.

Whether the result against Forest is enough to sway the new owners to make a change is yet to be seen and Dyche could be pondering what his priorities are going to be going into the transfer window.

However, it would not be surprising if the Blues boss was also feeling anxious over his future at Goodison.
