Sean Dyche to make Everton indicator with XI change v Nottingham Forest

Sean Dyche would show he means business by starting Armando Broja over Dominic Calvert-Lewin for Everton in their Premier League clash against Nottingham Forest, Ian Croll has said.

The Toffees’ number nine role has been a thorn in the Merseyside outfit’s side for most of the season and now the Albania international is back from injury, he could be the new man to lead the Toffees’ line.

Writing via his personal X account (29 December), Liverpool ECHO journalist and Royal Blue podcaster Croll shared why he thinks Dyche should start the Chelsea loanee and former Southampton man over the out-of-form Calvert-Lewin.

“Broja should start, definitely. A change up top would be an indicator we are set to take the game to them,” he wrote.

Armando Broja could be the answer to the problems Everton have faced

While the Toffees’ defence and midfield have been pretty solid over the last month or so, their strikers have consistently let them down and have perhaps even caused the club to miss out on some points.

Calvert-Lewin and Beto have been Dyche’s talisman for most of the campaign and while they have sometimes shown glimmers of a good performance, it feels like a lot more should have come from the duo so far.

The future of Calvert-Lewin is still undecided as the striker enters the final six months of his contract and, at the moment, with all the rumours about where he’s set to ply his trade, it seems like that could be with a foreign club as the likes of Fiorentina and Sevilla have shown an interest in acquiring his services.

Broja hasn’t yet been afforded much of a chance to prove his worth to Dyche but if the 53-year-old entrusts him to lead the line against Forest, it could be the start of a major upturn in form for the Toffees, if he can get himself firing of course.
