Arthur transfer twist emerges at Everton as sources share major update
Arthur Melo is not interested in joining Everton in the January transfer window, according to Juve FC.
The outlet reported on its website on 30 December that the Brazilian has rejected a proposed move to Goodison Park due to his loyalty to Liverpool.
He made just one appearance during his loan at Anfield in the 2022-23 season but holds the Reds in high regard and does not want to play for their local rivals, although Juventus are open to letting him leave.
Arthur Melo blow as Everton transfer rejected
The Toffees evidently rate Arthur highly and believe he can add experience and technical ability to their midfield.
With Juventus keen to move the 28-year-old off their books to ease their wage bill and Arthur preferring a move to the Premier League, a transfer – whether that be a loan or a permanent deal – would have been straightforward.
However, the midfielder’s loyalty to Liverpool has put Everton’s proposed move for him in doubt.
Sean Dyche’s side will now have to look elsewhere to strengthen their midfield, while Juventus need to find if there are other suitors for Arthur.
The Goodison Park outfit, though, appear to be prioritising signings in two other positions in the January transfer window.

However, they are still working on a tight budget, meaning they will have to look abroad for reinforcements.
