Begovic makes ‘Amazing’ Everton admission about next season already
Asmir Begovic says Everton are looking forward to next season as they prepare for life in their “amazing” new stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock.
Despite it having been a difficult season for the Toffees both on and off the pitch, the takeover by the Friedkin Group has certainly provided some optimism that better times are coming on Merseyside.
The immediate aim is for Sean Dyche to keep his side in the Premier League, which will ensure the Blues will be kick-starting life in their new stadium as a top-flight club.
Speaking on Sky Sports News (30 December), Begovic said: “It’s amazing, it’s absolutely amazing, and I think everyone around the club couldn’t be more excited to get in there next season.”
Everton will be hoping for more positive times in their new stadium
The Blues are still struggling this term and find themselves sitting just three points above the relegation zone after a 2-0 defeat against Nottingham Forest on Sunday (29 December).
While TFG are not able to go crazy with funding in the January transfer window, the Toffees will be expected to make some additions to their side in order to aid Dyche’s task of keeping his side in the top flight.
If a corner can be turned in the New Year, supporters will no doubt be looking at next season as the chance to embark on a new era at Everton with new ownership and a new stadium.
Comments about their new home have only been positive so far and Begovic says everyone around the club is excited about the move which surely means everyone at Goodison Park will be using this as momentum to achieve what is necessary in the second half of the season.
