Everton new stadium: Date and team set for first game, ticket details shared
Everton will hold two test events at their new home at Bramley-Moore Dock with ticket ballots set to open imminently, according to Alan Myers.
The Sky Sports journalist posted on X (2 January) to report that ahead of the Blues’ move from Goodison Park to Liverpool’s waterfront in the summer, two youth team matches will be held at their new stadium.
The Toffees’ Under-18s and Under-21s will be the first home teams on the grass at Bramley-Moore Dock from February onwards, with a limited number of fans in attendance set to be decided via ballot.
Respected journalist Myers said: “Everton will hold two test events at the new Everton Stadium.
“The first will be an Under-18s game in front of a 10,000 capacity on 17 February, and the second an Under-21s game with a 25,000 capacity, date to be confirmed.
“A third event will take place later in the year with a near to or full capacity.
“Tickets for these events will be via a ballot of season ticket members, Goodison Park hospitality members, 2025/26 Premium members and Shareholders.
“Ballots for both events to open tomorrow, 3 January.”
Everton fans given opportunity to experience new era early
Although crowds of 10,000 and 25,000 respectively in the Toffees’ 52,888-capacity new arena won’t come close to replicating the atmosphere of Goodison Park, a peek behind the curtain will excite fans.
The new era on Merseyside will feel very real indeed for the 35,000 fans lucky enough to be in attendance for either of those youth team matches, as Evertonians prepare for the seismic change.

It’s been 133 years since Blues fans last had to worry about heading to a different stadium for home matches – and even that relocation from Anfield only required a stroll across Stanley Park.
