Everton want to sign Aston Villa ace, loanee has to go first
Everton are interested in signing Jaden Philogene from Aston Villa during this transfer window, according to Jacob Tanswell.
The journalist reported via The Athletic (2 January) that the Toffees have rekindled their interest in the winger after making a bid to sign him from Hull City before he joined Villa in the summer.
Unai Emery’s side are considering letting the 22-year-old leave temporarily, but the Merseyside-based club would have to make a loan spot available first.
That means they would have to terminate Armando Broja or Jack Harrison’s loan deal unless they decide to make one of their moves permanent this month.

However, the transfer has not gone according to plan for the London-born attacker, who has been restricted to just one start across all competitions in Birmingham this season.
He is keen to secure regular playing time in the second half of the season, prompting Villa to consider a temporary exit.
Like the Toffees, Ipswich have also reignited their interest in Philogene as they look to avoid relegation this season.
As per Tanswell, other Premier League clubs are also keeping tabs on the youngster’s situation at Villa Park.
Philogene’s immediate future is likely to be determined soon, with talks scheduled to take place over the coming days.
It remains to be seen if the Goodison Park outfit are prepared to terminate Harrison or Broja’s loans to accommodate a move for the former Hull ace this month.
In other Everton news, the president of a European club have offered £5.7m to sign this Toffees star this month.
