Everton news as twist emerges about Jack Harrison exit
Jack Harrison will not be returning to Leeds United in January after joining Everton on loan in the summer, according to Chris Beesley.
The Liverpool Echo journalist addressed claims of the Whites using the option to recall the English winger now that the window has opened and stated that they were wide of the mark.
The 28-year-old has struggled to establish himself as a regular under Sean Dyche and has fallen down in the pecking order.
Beesley wrote on 1 January: “Such claims are wide of the mark. The ECHO understands that there is no recall option in Harrison’s contract that would enable the Yorkshiremen to force the player back across the Pennines this month.”
Jack Harrison is not expected to have a future at Everton
Harrison’s loan spell at Goodison Park has been underwhelming, providing little evidence that he has a future at the club.
Since joining on loan from Leeds, the 28-year-old winger has failed to become a regular starter under Dyche and whenever given the chance, he has struggled, more often than not.
His lack of consistent performances and minimal impact on the pitch, especially in terms of goal contributions, have left the fans and perhaps even the hierarchy questioning his value to the team.
Given the Toffees’ financial constraints and the need to make strategic investments during the transfer windows, it would be a shock if the club opted to sign Harrison permanently.
The funds and salary currently allocated to Harrison could be better utilised to acquire players who can offer more in terms of performance, contributing significantly to the club’s push away from relegation and towards competitiveness in the Premier League.

The new owners also would want to do things slightly differently and it remains to be seen if such things take place under their stewardship.
In other Everton news, sources claim the club want to offer a contract to a key player until he retires from football.
