Sean Dyche concern raised after what’s been said at Finch Farm
Everton have a “concerning” Sean Dyche worry to think about after what he said at his latest press conference at Finch Farm, Ian Croll has said.
The Liverpool Echo journalist shared via his personal X account (2 January) that the fact Dyche believed the second-half performance of his Toffees team against Nottingham Forest on 29 November was “dominant” is strange.
The Toffees are currently sitting 16th in the Premier League and their gap to the drop zone seems to be slowly decreasing as only two points separate them from 18th-placed Ipswich.
“I understand the point of view that people see games differently,” Croll wrote.
“Certainly when sat at different vantage points, but for Sean Dyche to describe the second half against Forest as a ‘dominant performance’ is baffling and concerning all at the same time”.
Sean Dyche needs to pick performances of Everton up soon
While there may have been the odd five minutes here and there when Everton looked to be the better team last week, there’s no way that anyone aside from Dyche will think that Everton had a dominant second-half performance.
If things stayed as they are now, Everton would just about scrape their way to another year of survival, but it feels like it’s about time for their fans to not be worried about their Premier League status and perhaps just have a nice steady season in mid-table.

With The Friedkin Group now the new owners, Everton could be well on their way to achieving that next season. At the moment, though, it feels like reinforcement is needed across the board if they want to put up a decent fight.
Dyche may have four strikers at his disposal but none of them have performed to the standards expected and have left Everton in a precarious situation.
If anyone is brought to Goodison Park in January, it feels like a striker should be on top of the priority list.
