Chris Sutton hits out at ‘Unbelievable’ Everton reveal today live on air
Sean Dyche quickly needs to address the fact that Everton have scored just 15 Premier League goals this season, Chris Sutton has said.
Speaking on the BBC’s 606 Show (4 January, 7:47pm), Sutton labelled the Toffees’ lack of potency in front of goal as “shambolic” following their 1-0 defeat at Bournemouth on Saturday 4 January.
The Blues’ loss at the Vitality Stadium was the eleventh time in just 20 matches that they’ve been held scoreless so far this term, with zero wins and just one goal scored since beating Wolves on 4 December.
Sutton said: “Unbelievable… I mean 15 goals this season? You’ve got to say, that’s shambolic, isn’t it really, and defensively, every week they’re stressed.
“They’ve got to start scoring goals, and you can’t get away from the fact that that’s something Sean Dyche that needs to address, and address quickly.”

Backing up a one-sided 4-0 victory with a barren five-game spell, featuring just one goal in their favour, is arguably an impressive feat on their part, having seemingly forgotten how to unlock defences.
Of their meagre 15 goals this term, two have been own goals, with Dyche’s squad featuring just seven players who have found the net thus far and a mere four to have done so more than once.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin, more often than not the first-choice pick of Dyche, has managed just two in 18 appearances, with Armando Broja still to get off the mark after starting against Bournemouth.
Bringing in a forward is one of the Blues’ three key priorities in the transfer window following Dan Friedkin’s takeover [Sky Sports, 1 December], but it seems that the entire forward line needs open-heart surgery at present.
Signs are few and far between that the attacking potency of Dyche’s setup and style of play will improve any time soon, leaving Friedkin with some big decisions to make both on and off the pitch at Goodison.
