Beto transfer: Very hot hours as Everton striker waits to quit Goodison

Beto is waiting on the green light to leave Everton as talks with Torino continue, according to Giacomo Morandin.

The Toro Zone journalist, followed by Fabrizio Romano, posted on X on 5 January to report that very hot contacts have begun over a loan-to-buy deal, with three other Italian teams also interested.

Beto was spotted at Manchester Airport on Sunday to further heighten the likelihood of his imminent departure from Goodison Park, as decisive hours begin.

Everton exit imminent as Beto on brink of Torino transfer

Even if Beto doesn’t seal a move to Torino in the coming days – with the option-to-buy likely a major factor behind the deal – interest from three other Italian sides suggests his time at Goodison is over.

The 26-year-old has never been able to rediscover the form he showed with Udinese in Serie A since signing for the Blues in August 2023; not that he’s ever been given a consistent run of starts in the team.

Dyche’s preference to start Dominic Calvert-Lewin ahead of Beto in attack, despite his number nine’s lack of potency in recent seasons, has seen the Guinea Bissau international’s progress stagnate.

Beto is far from alone when it comes to new signings not being entirely trusted by Dyche on Merseyside, and as a result, the Blues are likely to take a big hit on the £25.8million they agreed for him.

Signing a forward player is one of three key priorities for Dyche’s side in the winter window, and Beto’s departure could facilitate reinforcements, in place of a big-money signing which hasn’t worked out.
