Emma Watson drops ‘buzzing’ verdict after first day with Everton Women
Emma Watson admits that she’s buzzing to be a part of the Everton Women set up now that her move to the Toffees has been finalised.
The midfielder joined the Merseyside outfit on 7 January in a six-month loan deal from parent club Manchester United.
She’ll become the Toffees’ third signing of the window with the Friedkin Group delivering with their promise of investing in the women’s team.
Speaking to Everton’s official website (8 January), Watson shared her thoughts on her first day in Merseyside.
“I’m absolutely buzzing to be here and I’m looking forward to the rest of the season,” she said.
“I’ve really enjoyed my first day here, getting to meet everyone, getting to meet all the girls and have a look around the favourite and get my bearings, so I’m really excited”.
The Friedkin Group aren’t holding back with the Everton Women team
The first half of the WSL season likely didn’t go as Brian Sorensen would have hoped as Everton currently sit ninth in the league.
At the moment, the Toffees are level on points with Liverpool Women but will no doubt want to make their way up the table by the time the end of the season comes around.
Since The Friedkin Group took over the Merseyside outfit, one of the things they promised to do was bolster the ranks of the Women’s set-up and, so far, they’ve done just that.

Everton are only two points adrift of the top-six spots and while a top-four finish isn’t all that likely, there’s no reason why they can’t make their way into the top half of the table.
The second half of the WSL season isn’t set to kick off until the 18 January so, until then, there’s still plenty of time to bring in some new faces if Sorensen wishes to do so.
