Sean Dyche appears to have insulted Everton supporters with latest comments

Sean Dyche has been speaking ahead of the Toffees FA Cup tie with Peterborough and his comments seem somewhat insulting to Everton supporters.

Time is certainly running out for Dyche and it appears he is trying to do anything in his power to deflect the blame away from himself for the dismal season Everton are enduring.

His comments after the Bournemouth defeat already made him look like a laughing stock and his most recent ones ahead of the FA Cup tie with Peterborough haven’t done him any favours.

As quoted by Peterborough Telegraph [8 January], Dyche said: “It is so apparent when you get to this football club that every game is massive. It is hero or zero. Win some and you are a hero at that moment – you know what you are doing. Lose and you don’t. It is really simple here.”

His comments couldn’t be further away from the truth.

Sean Dyche is wrong with his Everton verdict

It’s quite fitting that he ends his comments with “it is really simple” when in reality, quite literally nothing has been simple since his appointment.

In terms of the validity of his comments, they’re just wrong. Everton supporters aren’t entitled nor do they expect to win every game they play.

What they do expect is a team that they can watch and be proud of while having a clear indication as to what the plan is. Win, lose or draw, that is often enough to appease Toffees supporters.

Under his stewardship, none of that is prevalent and that is where the frustration and anger come from.

His comments just show a lack of respect for supporters who have had to spend their hard-earned money watching his dismal style of play while leading the club towards the Championship, taking no responsibility for himself.

It’s hard to see a way back for him at Everton and if the Toffees are to progress, he needs to be stripped of the keys.
