The Friedkins could win Everton fans over with signing of ‘ridiculous’ attacker
Everton have struggled in the attacking department this season with only Dwight McNeil and Iliman Ndiaye living up to expectations.
Their strikers such as Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Beto have been among their worst performers this season and have only netted three goals between them thus far.
So, it comes as no surprise that the Toffees are already being linked with moves for attacking reinforcement now that the January transfer window is open.
One of the names who has reportedly piqued the interest of the Merseyside outfit is that of Jaden Philogene [Harry Watkinson, 7 January].
The Aston Villa attacker hasn’t been afforded much of a chance to prove his worth by Unai Emery this term despite his skill being described as “ridiculous” by former manager, Liam Rosenior [Hull City, February 2024].
However, his lack of game time has allowed Everton to register their interest in the attacker once again after he turned down a move to Goodison Park in the summer.
Why would Jaden Philogene help The Friedkin Group win Everton fans over
Now that Dan Friedkin has finally completed his takeover of Everton, he can start to get his plans into action regarding how he’s going to improve the fortunes of the club.
While the Premier League’s PSR rules will no doubt be in the back of the Toffees’ minds due to the point deductions they received last year, it feels like reinforcement is desperately needed in their attack.
At the moment, nothing is yet set in stone but due to Everton already having two domestic loans at the club in Jack Harrison and Armando Broja, if a move is to be sanctioned, it would have to be a permanent one.

The attacker would add some much-needed pace to the right wing and would perhaps offer a more clinical option in forward areas than what Harrison or Jesper Lindstrom have so far.
The transfer of the former Hull City man would show Everton’s fanbase that the Friedkins mean business and could be an ideal way for them to start off their tenure.
