Agbonlahor shares Everton ‘crisis’ verdict after what Brazil said

Gabby Agbonlahor believes that Everton are in a “crisis” at the moment due to the lack of goals they’ve scored this season.

The Toffees sit 16th in the Premier League table and have scored the second-least goals in the Premier League this term.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Beto are two main factors to blame for this but in reality, a lot more should be coming from the entire team.

Speaking live on talkSPORT (9 January, 08:38am), Agbonlahor and Alan Brazil shared their thoughts on the Toffees’ goal-scoring form this season.

“Since the start of last season, the Toffees have scored 26 goals from open play, the next lowest is West Ham on 56,” Brazil said.

To which Agbonlahor replied: “This season Al, 15 goals in 20 games, you’re not even averaging one per game, that’s like [a] crisis.”

Sean Dyche needs to thank his lucky stars for his Everton job

The last 72 hours for Everton fans have been rather entertaining, the Toffees were linked with Graham Potter taking over the managerial role from Sean Dyche but alas, the Englishman chose West Ham over the Merseyside outfit.

While fans may be upset about the 49-year-old choosing the Hammers over them, one man who will be more than happy with the outcome is Dyche.

There’s no denying that the former Burnley boss is a Premier League survival specialist and while he hasn’t got Everton in the drop zone just yet, fulfilling that ability, it feels like it’s only a matter of time before they enter the bottom three.

Last term was arguably one of the toughest in the Merseyside outfit’s history due to their double point deduction due to two separate breaches of the Premier League’s PSR rules.

The 53-year-old only has half a season left to prove his worth to The Friedkin Group before his contract expires so even though he’ll be thankful to still have his role, he now needs to prove why he’s worth keeping around.
