TFG to appoint ‘big-name manager’ at Everton as Sean Dyche sacked

Bryan King expects that The Friedkin Group will appoint a big-name manager at Everton after sacking Sean Dyche.

The ex-Goodison scout was speaking after it was reported by Alan Myers via Sky Sports News (9 January, 12:23 pm), that Dyche had been sacked by the Toffees just hours ahead of their FA Cup clash with Peterborough United at Goodison Park (9 January).

As reported by Fabrizio Romano via X (9 January), talks are already underway to find the 53-year-old’s replacement.

And King – speaking exclusively to Goodison News – expects that replacement to be high profile.

“I think The Friedkin Group are going to try and appoint a big name, that is for sure,” King said.

“They’re obviously going to go for a big name, and you don’t get much bigger than José Mourinho. However, I don’t see him leaving Turkey at this stage.

“It was Mourinho’s antics at Roma which got him the sack. He was trying to generate news around himself with some crazy things he was doing. However, whether or not he returns to England we must wait and see.”

The Friedkin Group to appoint big-name manager at Everton?

It seemed obvious for some time that Dyche could be sacked by The Friedkin Group.

However, some supporters and employees at Everton might not be happy about the timing of the announcement.

Therefore, it is important that the new Everton owners get their first hire spot on, and bringing in a big-name manager could be a surefire way to keep fans happy.
