David Moyes to make Everton return in next 48 hours as contract details revealed
Everton will appoint David Moyes over the weekend on a contract of “at least two years”, according to Sky Sports.
As revealed on Friday afternoon (10 January, 12:50), Moyes is meeting with Everton officials to thrash out a deal for a sensational return to the club he managed for 11 years.
The Scotsman, 61, was at the helm at Goodison Park between 2002 and 2013 before replacing Sir Alex Ferguson at Manchester United, and 12 years on will seemingly succeed Sean Dyche back at Goodison after he was sacked on Thursday (9 January).
Sky Sports stated on their live ticker (10 January): “David Moyes is meeting with Everton officials today to agree a deal to return to the club.
“Sky Sports News understands he’ll join the club on a contract of at least two years.
“Moyes is expected to be in position over the weekend.”
David Moyes to return as Everton manager
Football moves incredibly rapidly at times – if you had asked any Everton fan at the beginning of the week whether they thought David Moyes would be their manager by the weekend, they would have laughed.
Now, Moyes is incoming to replace Dyche in his first role since leaving West Ham United at the end of last season.
The Hammers also saw the 61-year-old manage in two separate stints, and the boss who steered the Toffees into the Champions League places back in 2005 is heading back to where he excelled most in his managerial career.

It is a huge new era on and off the pitch for the blue half of Merseyside, and Moyes appears in it for the long haul, as it is understood he is reluctant to sign a short-term deal – he wants the longer project.
Everton were under emergency interim charge on Thursday night (9 January), beating Peterborough United 2-0 in the FA Cup third round at Goodison under the stewardship of Leighton Baines and Seamus Coleman – both signed under Moyes.
