Everton transfer likely blocked after crushing injury news
Everton are now unlikely to sell Beto in the winter transfer window after Armando Broja picked up another injury, according to Alan Myers.
The Sky Sports journalist believes if the Albanian striker’s injury against Peterborough is as serious as it looked, then the former Udinese forward won’t be going anywhere amid interest from Italy (TMW, 8 January).
Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Youssef Chermiti were also unavailable as the Toffees beat the Posh 2-0 in the FA Cup on Thursday (9 January).
Myers wrote on his personal X account (9 January): “Broja injury (if as serious as it looks) probably means Beto won’t be going anywhere. No Chermiti and Calvert-Lewin injured.”
Everton in Beto transfer dilemma after Armando Broja injury
It remains to be seen how long Broja will be out, but if it’s a few weeks, the Blues will need to strengthen their attack.
Sean Dyche relied on Calvert-Lewin to lead the line before he was eventually sacked, as the English centre-forward consistently failed to find the back of the net.
Chermiti hasn’t featured for the Merseyside outfit at all this season and has been on the sidelines for the most part, as he looks to bounce back.
Everton will likely have to go into the January window and sign at least one striker to give the incoming new manager more options at his disposal.

Beto’s sale can’t be afforded either, and maybe the Guinean will finally be able to showcase his quality with all other number nines out injured.
Broja has had a hard time over the last few years with injuries, and the Goodison faithful won’t be surprised as the 23-year-old is prone to fitness issues and they will wish him all the best.
The Toffees have already played without the Albanian forward for most of the campaign, but his knock has come at the wrong time, with Calvert-Lewin also out.
Hopefully, Dan Friedkin will hold on to Beto and make funds available for a new striker.
