Moyes appointment: Official announcement hours away after Everton developments
David Moyes looks set to become the new Everton manager following Sean Dyche’s sacking.
The Toffees parted ways with the 53-year-old just three hours before kicking off against Peterborough United in the FA Cup third round on Thursday (9 January).
This left Leighton Baines and Seamus Coleman in charge as the Blues faced Peterborough United at Goodison Park, managing a hard-fought 2-0 win against the League One outfit.
Of course, these two cannot be a permanent managerial partnership going forward, suggesting that Moyes is just hours away from being appointed by The Friedkin Group.
According to Sky Sports, the former West Ham figure will return to Goodison Park, signing a contract of at least two years as he meets Everton officials to thrash out the fine details.

Graham Potter was reportedly in the running to come to Merseyside [The Times], that was until his decision to join West Ham United instead, so Moyes seems like the ideal choice.
Supporters had already raised issues with the former Brighton and Chelsea figure coming to Goodison Park, with the squad unlikely to adapt to his style of football.
Moyes seems like the far more sensible option, given what he achieved at the London Stadium, and it might not take long before his return is officially announced by the Blues.
With the Toffees in a rather sticky situation when it comes to the Premier League table, they cannot afford to be without a permanent manager for much longer, especially with Aston Villa up next.

Of course, the Scot will need time to work his magic and understand exactly what he is working with, but fans can finally begin to think about safety rather than a drop down to the Championship.
Fans need to keep an eye on social media, with an official statement likely to be made within the next few hours.
