Everton timeline for new backroom hires emerges
Everton could announce David Moyes’ backroom staff on Monday after he was reappointed as the Toffees’ boss, according to Alan Myers.
The Scotsman has now officially taken over from Sean Dyche, who was relieved of his duties earlier in the week amid a hugely underwhelming campaign.
At the moment, it’s unclear who the 61-year-old will have among his staff but it feels like a change of manager could be exactly what the Merseyside outfit needed to get their campaign back on track.
While replying to a fan who was asking when Moyes’ new staff members would be announced, Sky Sports journalist Myers responded via his personal X account (12 January) with the following: “Expecting it soon, probably tomorrow for confirmation”.
David Moyes needs to instantly hit the ground running at Everton
Everton fans will have mixed feelings about the return of Moyes given the way he left the club 12 years ago and, unless he can turn things around at Goodison Park almost instantly, it feels like The Friedkin Group could be looking at making yet another change by the start of next season.
The Scotsman has been handed a two-and-a-half-year deal with the Toffees and while that may seem like the American businessmen are investing in the manager for their future, it feels like he still has a lot to prove before he’s guaranteed that.

At the moment, Everton’s main problem is the lack of goals they’re scoring with none of their strikers playing to the standards expected of them.
Of course, we haven’t even started Moyes’ second tenure and there’s plenty that could change or perhaps go Everton’s way before the end of the term but one thing is for sure, Moyes needs to find a way to get results out of his squad as soon as possible.
