Everton will benefit from David Moyes’ arrival when they face Aston Villa on Wednesday, according to Jamie Carragher.

The pundit, who wanted the Blues to keep Sean Dyche, reckons the new manager bounce will help them claim a point and, therefore, predicted a 1-1 scoreline.

“David Moyes is a good appointment for Everton and there will be an extra buzz at Goodison which I think will get them a point”, Carragher told Sky Sports’ Super Six.

Everton confirmed Moyes’ arrival on a two-and-a-half year deal on Saturday (11 January).

Talks with the former West Ham United boss quickly gain speed after they relieved Sean Dyche of his duties on Thursday, 9 January.

Carragher, though, foresaw the managerial change as early as Monday (6 January), touting Moyes to replace Dyche at Goodison Park.

Therefore, it is no surprise that he considers Moyes’ return as a “good appointment”.

Having seen one of his Everton predictions come true, the Sky Sports pundit will be keen to see the same happen when they face Aston Villa.
