Alan Brazil apologises to Moyes over Everton comment made live on talkSPORT

Alan Brazil has jokingly apologised to David Moyes after what he said about the Everton boss live on talkSPORT.

The 61-year-old is already having a positive impact at Goodison Park as he prepares for the first test of his second stint in charge when his side hosts Aston Villa on Wednesday evening (15 January).

However, Brazil has already issued an apology to the Blues boss, albeit playfully, after joking the 61-year-old is starting to show his age after years in management.

“I saw a picture earlier of Davey. What a difference a few years in management makes. Incredible,” Brazil said live on talkSPORT (15 January, 8:04am).

After being told by Ally McCoist he’d now be in trouble, Brazil added: “Sorry, Moyesy.”

David Moyes aims for winning Everton start v Aston Villa

Spirits at Everton couldn’t be higher after Moyes’ return to Goodison Park, even if some supporters are not fully behind the appointment.

Although Sean Dyche performed a remarkable job during his two years on Merseyside, all Evertonians will agree it was time for a change.

The Blues are lingering one point above the relegation zone, heading into the clash on Wednesday, and every match from here to May is a fight for survival.

Moyes’ demeanour may cut a composed figure but he will undoubtedly be feeling the pressure, particularly after reported manager target Graham Potter began his league rein at West Ham in winning fashion against Fulham.

Former Toffees forward Theo Walcott believes that Potter would have been a more fitting appointment at Goodison Park than Moyes.

However, the Everton faithful will politely disagree – amid the constant fear of relegation this term – there is no one better to steady the ship than the most successful manager for the Merseyside outfit in the Premier League era.
