Troy Deeney blown away by ‘best’ Iliman Ndiaye in Everton win v Tottenham
Iliman Ndiaye was “excellent” as Everton beat Tottenham 3-2 at Goodison Park on Sunday, according to Troy Deeney.
The pundit was so impressed by the Senegal international’s goalscoring performance against Spurs on 19 January that he named him in his Premier League team of the week on BBC Sport.
He named Ndiaye as the Toffees’ “best attacking spark” this season and suggested that David Moyes has brought a smile back to his face.
“He was excellent against a Tottenham side that looked lost for most of the game”, Deeney wrote in his column on BBC Sport (21 January).
“He’s been Everton’s best attacking spark all season and it is nice to see him playing with a smile back on his face.”
Iliman Ndiaye to explode under David Moyes at Everton?
Ndiaye has undoubtedly been one of Everton’s best players this season, making the £15million the Blues paid for him in the summer seem like a bargain [BBC].
However, the 24-year-old did not have much to show for it under Sean Dyche as he bagged just three goals in his first 19 Premier League appearances this term.
The Merseyside-based club will want more goal involvement from Ndiaye if they want to stay in the Premier League.
Therefore, the former Sheffield United ace can improve his numbers under Moyes in the second half of the season.
Having scored in Moyes’ second game in charge of Everton, Ndiaye will be confident about adding more to his tally in the coming weeks.

Should that be the case, there is no reason why the attacker cannot establish himself as one of the best players in his position in the Premier League.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin also being on the scoresheet will be a huge boost to the Goodison Park outfit’s entire attacking unit.
