Everton transfer round-up: Defender speaks to agents, Roma want fringe player
Everton are continuing to survey the transfer market with both incomings and outgoings potentially on the cards at Goodison Park.
David Moyes is keen to strengthen the squad before the 3 February deadline, with departures also not to be ruled out with several players linked to and from Merseyside.
Goodison News takes a look at the recent transfer talk from the past 24 hours.
Everton show interest in Tierney from Arsenal
Everton are reportedly eager on pursuing a move for Kieran Tierney, whose Arsenal contract expires this summer (Mike McGrath, 23 January).
However, it now looks almost certain the left-back will return to Celtic, his boyhood club whom he left for the Emirates in 2019.
Tierney originally signed for Arsenal for £25million from Parkhead, but the Gunners have already made their position clear that a new contract will not be offered.
Roma join hunt for Beto as Serie A increasingly likely
Roma have become the latest Serie A club to show an interest in signing Everton fringe player Beto, reports Gazzetta dello Sport (23 January).
Torino have shown themselves to be very keen in acquiring the striker, who is ready to leave Goodison having not been brought onto the pitch by David Moyes against Tottenham last Sunday (19 January).
The Friedkin Group own Roma alongside the Toffees which could play into the hands of the Giallorossi.

Sunderland stand firm over Neil amid Everton interest
Sunderland will not be sanctioning the sale of captain Dan Neil in the winter window, Graeme Bailey has said via Everton News (23 January).
Neil, 23, has performed excellently in Sunderland’s promotion push in the Championship so far this season and was a potential option for the Toffees, but is too valuable to the Black Cats at present.
West Ham United have also been credited with an interest in Neil during the mid-season market.
Emerson Royal to speak to agents over next move
Everton remain interested in former Tottenham full-back Emerson Royal who will speak to his representatives on Thursday, says Gazzetta dello Sport (23 January).
The AC Milan star has been linked with several clubs including a return to the Premier League with either the Toffees or Fulham, having been unconvinced by the prospect of a move to Galatasaray (Matteo Moretto, 21 January).
The 26-year-old has 10 full caps for Brazil and also represented Barcelona before first arriving in England.
