Mo Farah moots ‘big score’ in Brighton v Everton scoreline prediction
Mo Farah has predicted Brighton to beat Everton at the Amex Stadium despite David Moyes’ return to Goodison Park.
The Toffees travel to the coast on Saturday 25 August, hoping to build on their impressive 3-2 win over Tottenham last time out while the Seagulls are unbeaten in seven matches in all competitions.
History would suggest a goal-fest between the two sides in the Premier League, having not drawn 0-0 in their last seven meetings, and the four-time Olympic gold medal winner has shared his thoughts.
Speaking to the Premier League [24 January], Farah said: “Brighton are doing really good, and now we’ve got David Moyes back at Everton.
“But I still think Brighton. I’m going to say 3-1. Big score.”

Having been so successful at the 2012 and 2016 Olympics, Farah certainly knows what he’s talking about when it comes to Athletics and long-distance running.
He also has experience with Soccer Aid, but Toffees fans will be hoping his prediction is way off when they travel down to the Amex Stadium to take on the high-flying Seagulls away from home.
Everton have been known to put up a fight against their Saturday opponents, even defeating them 5-1 in 2023 thanks to Abdoulaye Doucoure, Dwight McNeil and Jason Steele’s own goal.
Moyes absolutely needs his players to step up following their shock win over Spurs, and a win could see them move seven points away from the relegation zone, which would be a massive boost.
The Toffees ended a horrendous run of just one victory in 10 matches, rather unexpectedly against the Lilywhites, but that is worth nothing if they cannot build on it at the Amex Stadium.
Goals flowed so naturally at Goodison Park last time out so Dominic Calvert-Lewin will have all the weight on his shoulders when taking on the Seagulls.
