Clinton Morrison slams Everton star live on Sky Sports during Brighton win

Clinton Morrison slammed Beto after he missed an opportunity to score as Everton beat Brighton 1-0 in the Premier League.

The ex-Irish forward was not pleased as the Guinean striker scuffed his shot after being presented with a chance to score at the Amex Stadium on Saturday (25 January).

Carlos Baleba was caught in possession in the 76th minute, but the 26-year-old was unable to double the lead it after Iliman Ndiaye’s penalty in the first half.

Speaking on Sky Sports News (25 January, 16:39), Morrison said: “If you’re a Premier League forward, you’ve got to be doing better with that.”

David Moyes hands Everton boost in relegation fight after Brighton win

Another three points at Amex mean the Toffees are now seven ahead of their nearest relegation rivals in the Premier League.

The Merseyside outfit weren’t the most dominant of sides against the Seagulls, but they managed to get the victory away from home.

David Moyes has seemingly turned the tide at the Blues, with the team now on a two-game win streak as they beat Tottenham 3-2 on 19 January at Goodison Park.

Everton fans will arguably be confident now of avoiding the drop to the Championship as they go up against Leicester next on 1 February, but the injury to Dominic Calvert-Lewin is concerning.

Beto came on for the England international in the 13th minute after he picked up a knock.

The Foxes are in the relegation zone, and it doesn’t look like Ruud van Nistelrooy will be able to get the best out of them anytime soon.

Moyes’ arrival has undoubtedly changed the mood at the Merseyside outfit, and the supporters will be confident about going to Bramley-Moore Dock with their Premier League status intact.

Beto should have done better in the situation, and with Calvert-Lewin potentially sidelined, it remains to be seen how the Scottish manager will set up in the coming fixtures.
