Dyche tipped for swift return after Everton sack as Leicester City claim made
Sean Dyche has been tipped by Rory Jennings as the ideal man to take over at Leicester City, less than a month on from his Everton sacking.
Dyche was dismissed by the Toffees on 9 January in what one senior player has since described as a “ruthless” decision by the board.
The 53-year-old has thanked Everton supporters, but there is a possibility he may soon be back in a Premier League dugout.
With Leicester badly struggling under recently appointed manager Ruud van Nistelrooy, Jennings wonders if it could be time to turn to Dyche.
Speaking live on talkSPORT [24 January, 8:27pm], Jennings said: “Despite their woeful form, when you look at the league table they’re not cut adrift, so there’s a chance they can survive.
“I don’t know why you’d believe Ruud van Nistelrooy is the man to do that – we have no case study to prove that.
“Who’s more likely to keep Leicester in the Premier League? Van Nistelrooy or Sean Dyche? I think Sean is the answer to a very particular problem.
“What immediately happens when Dyche becomes your manager? You become hard to beat. You become good at scoring from set-pieces.
“I’m not saying he’s a better manager than every club than Van Nistelrooy, but this job needs a very particular skillset.”
Sean Dyche will be a wanted man by Premier League clubs
It had become clear long before the official sacking of Dyche that his time at Goodison Park had reached a natural end.
While the timing itself of the announcement was out of the blue, supporters – the vast majority, at least – were ready for a change.
Everton chiefs deserve credit for moving fairly swiftly in bringing in David Moyes as Dyche’s replacement, and the early signs are positive.
As for Dyche, he will no doubt be eager to get back into the game as quickly as possible, and you’d imagine it is a Premier League job he is after.

Dyche knows where his strengths lie, and that is keeping teams in the division. On that basis, it would make sense for Leicester to show an interest.
The Foxes only recently hired Van Nistelrooy – a strange appointment with the benefit of hindsight – but it would not be the craziest call in the world to replace him with a survival expert to save themselves.
