Everton ‘to complete Hamza Igamane transfer’ after Dominic Calvert-Lewin injury

Bryan King expects Everton to complete the signing of Rangers striker Hamza Igamane before the winter transfer window closes.

As reported by TBR Football (26 January), the Gers’ chances of retaining Igamane’s services are slim, with Everton, Tottenham, Brighton, Newcastle and Aston Villa all interested.

Graeme Bailey told Everton News (27 January) that the Toffees have done work on a deal to sign the striker.

And ex-Goodison scout King – speaking exclusively to Goodison News – expects David Moyes’ side to get a deal for Igamane across the line after Dominic Calvert-Lewin was injured in the 1-0 Premier League win over Brighton at the AMEX Stadium on Saturday (25 January).

“If they have got the money, a deal could be agreed,” King said.

“I don’t think Igamane would be cheap. However, now that Calvert-Lewin is injured, I imagine that Everton will be looking to get that deal across the line.”

Everton to sign Rangers striker Hamza Igamane?

Moyes’ side made it back-to-back wins in the Premier League with their victory against Brighton on Saturday. However, it wasn’t all positive for the Toffees on the south coast as Calvert-Lewin was forced off after suffering a suspected hamstring injury.

After the match, Moyes’ reaction to the injury was that of “genuine concern” [via Joe Thomas, 25 January].

Therefore, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see a striker brought in, and with Igamane already on the club’s radar, a deal could be pushed through for the 22-year-old.

In other Everton news, the club are lurking in the background to sign a Premier League defender.
