Everton ‘on verge of Igamane deal’ with Rangers as another exit sanctioned

Everton are on the verge of finalising a deal to sign Rangers forward Hamza Igamane, according to Tuttosport.

The Italian news outlet reported on Wednesday (29 January) that the Moroccan international is seen as the ideal replacement for the injured Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

Alongside Igamane, Evan Ferguson, Marcus Edwards, Brian Brobbey and Taiwo Awoniyi are other targets said to be under consideration.

The Friedkin Group are ready to supply David Moyes with a £33.5million budget to sign two new centre-forwards in the closing stages of the winter transfer window.

Everton are said to now be “one step away” landing Igamane from Rangers, but one more arrival could be forthcoming as the Toffees look set to finally sanction Beto’s departure to Torino [Tuttosport].

Everton to sign Hamza Igamane and one more

While one forward will be sought to ease the goalscoring burden during Calvert-Lewin’s long-term injury absence, another will be sought to offset a potential exit for Beto.

Tuttosport has kept close tabs on Torino’s pursuit of the 26-year-old and now believes the Serie A outfit is ready to meet Kevin Thelwell’s demands ahead of the potential spending spree.

Igamane left Blues scouts “very impressed” with his performance earlier this season in the Europa League against Tottenham [TBR Football], where he opened the scoring for Rangers in the 1-1 draw.

The 22-year-old only arrived at Ibrox via FAR Rabat in the summer and, after a slow start to life in Scotland, has now hit the ground running with 13 goals in 27 appearances – more than Calvert-Lewin, Beto, Dwight McNeil and Iliman Ndiaye combined – including four in the Europa League.

Furthermore, Rangers boss Philippe Clement operates on a sell-to-buy structure and would be tempted to sell his star man should Everton submit a too-tempting-offer to resist.

Among the names linked with a move to Goodison Park, Igamane is by far the most prolific and would also be the cheapest – Thelwell has been presented with the easiest hole-in-one throughout his entire Everton tenure, and he cannot afford to miss.
