Marcus Edwards ‘to pass medical’ as Everton make transfer move
Marcus Edwards should clear his Everton medical if needed despite multiple injuries this season, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.
The injury expert claims that while it is a worry, it is not something that would raise red flags if they are to finalise the Sporting CP winger’s transfer in the coming days.
This comes after the Toffees have made an enquiry to sign the 26-year-old, who won the league last season, ahead of the transfer deadline. [Jaque Talbot, 21 January]
Speaking exclusively to Goodison News, Brar, a specialist in Physical Therapy and Sports Scientist, said about Edwards: “The game time is certainly not ideal and the injuries typically wouldn’t be too concerning but the concern is he’s picked up a few in very limited minutes.
“I wouldn’t call it a red flag but things you have to be aware of when it comes to his fitness.
“It’s not something that would cause him to fail his medical, however.“
Everton must think twice before signing Marcus Edwards
The Toffees certainly will not be too pleased to see the fitness record of a player they’re keen on signing in the transfer window.
The fact that Edwards has been picking up injuries without playing much suggests that he’s not getting the right amount of game time to develop a rhythm.

However, it may be better if the club look at other alternatives as the Premier League is a robust and physical league.
In other Everton news, the Toffees have made an offer to secure the services of a South American midfielder capable of playing at right-back.
